Nonfiction Piece Published Now

photo: Jackson the Greyhound, happy to be out for a walk

A short nonfiction piece, titled "Someone to Come Home to," about how my life improved when I adopted a greyhound, was published recently in an anthology, now available on Amazon at this link.  If you're interested in real stories about how to manage those anxieties that life can often throw at you, check it out.

And due to my spec. fiction sale, I've been accepted as a member of the Horror Writers Association.  (Besides our first name, it's probably the only thing that Stephen King and I have in common.)  Please click on the icon to the right and check them out!

If you feel like commenting about the piece, please do so.  Thanks!

  1. Congratulations! Is this your first story in a book? How did you find out about this anthology? You must be very excited.

I sent you an email earlier, but I'm too excited not to say it again... one of my stories was published in an Australian magazine last night. It's going to press now, so I'm really happy. I can't wait to see it in print. It's my first published story!

    1. Thanks, C. Yes, it's my first nonfiction piece in a book--and my first time on Amazon! I found out about the anthology because I knew the editor of the anthology a little bit. (It's not what you know, but who you know.) She liked my writing and asked me to submit something. Besides my poems, it's the shortest thing I've ever written.

And a hearty congrats to you on your sale! Let me know where it's being published so I can put it on this blog for you! Your first sale! I'm very happy for you! Now there are two recent sales from our little WWG!!! (Not that I attend that often anymore.)

  2. How cool seeing your name on Amazon! I just placed the book in my cart and I'm about to order it. And I'll post a review on Amazon as soon as I'm finished. As an anxiety sufferer of many years, I am very interested in reading your story as well as from the other authors. Congrats!
